Trulaske’s Spring 2021 graduates were recognized with multiple in-person ceremonies this May. To ensure the health and safety of graduates and their guests, the University of Missouri held graduation ceremonies over two weekends – May 7-9 and May 14-16 – allowing for plenty of space for social distancing.
Students receiving master’s and doctoral degrees from the college were recognized during MU Graduate School ceremonies in Mizzou Arena on May 7 and 8. Trulaske held its ceremonies for BS BA graduates on the morning of May 15 in the arena.
Each year, the college gives graduating seniors the opportunity to speak at the commencement ceremony. Students apply for this privilege and the Trulaske Student Council interviews the applicants, selecting just one honoree for each ceremony. This spring, Jake Spaniol, a BS BA graduate, addressed his classmates. Spaniol graduated that morning with honors (magna cum laude) with an emphasis in management and a sales certificate. After graduation, he plans to join Federated Insurance.
At the 11:15 a.m. ceremony, the university recognized Mr. Dan Hagan with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree. Mr. Hagan is a self-made businessman who helps high-achieving rural students graduate from college debt-free through the Hagan Scholarship Foundation.
Congratulations to Trulaske’s newest alumni!
