Trulaske College of Business celebrates spring graduates, honorary degree recipient Ed Rapp

The Trulaske College of Business celebrated its most recent graduates at its spring 2023 commencement ceremony. Held on the evening of May 12, in Mizzou Arena, the ceremony provided more than 800 undergraduate business students with an opportunity to be recognized for their academic achievements. Students receiving master’s and doctoral degrees from the college were recognized during MU Graduate School ceremonies in Mizzou Arena earlier that day.

Blending creativity and leadership skills: Zeph France looks to the next step

Zeph France enrolled at the Trulaske College of Business with the goal of further building the brand he created in high school as a rapper and music producer. He still has that goal, but thanks to his experience in Trulaske, there’s a twist. Through coursework and extracurricular activities, France realized that he wanted to be able to gain skills that apply directly to leadership.

As a friendly, ambitious and optimistic freshman from Chesterfield, Missouri, he started at the University of Missouri not knowing exactly which academic path to pursue. He immediately joined the fraternity Beta Theta Pi, started making lifelong friends and volunteered around campus and Columbia.

Many of their degrees were, at least partially, impacted by the “COVID years.” Their classes and ways of life were not what college students typically experienced in years prior. As the university and its educators adapted to the changing circumstances, many students found themselves in a hybrid learning environment that combined both in-person and online classes—a model that has now become a widely accepted and established part of the educational landscape.

On Friday, April 21, the Trulaske College of Business recognized excellence among alumni and students at its annual Honors Luncheon event. Business students help Mizzou Club Hockey make history and advance to national championship

By Elleyna Rudman A business-minded team For the first time in program history, the University of Missouri's club hockey team has qualified for the Division III American Collegiate Hockey Association national championship in Boston, Massachusetts. The Tigers soared to the Northeast hot off a 13-game win streak, an eighth place national ranking and a recent regional title. To ensure success, the team worked diligently to build a positive culture and an efficient organization that encompassed the core values of dedication and teamwork.

Dawdy Speaker Series brings “Tipper X” to Cornell Hall

On April 14, the School of Accountancy hosted “Tipper X” – an insider trading informant for the FBI in 2008 and 2009 – as part of its Dawdy Speaker Series. The man known as Tipper X, Tom Hardin, told his story clearly and compellingly to members of the Trulaske community in a full Bush Auditorium. Throughout his talk, he discussed the ethics lessons he learned after being caught for insider trading.
