Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business

The MU International Trade Center provided a group of 18 Trulaske College of Business undergraduate students with an opportunity to travel to Kansas City in March as part of a newexperiential learning opportunity called Trulaske Trade Trek. Students experienced global trade in action by visiting with exporters, importers, government and local trade resource professionals, local trade assets, and trade service organizations based in the Kansas City region.

With a passion for service and a desire to explore, Ben Scheiber is living his dreams working as a Peace Corps community economic development volunteer in rural Costa Rica. He served as a student intern with the MU ITC during the Fall 2022 semester. He graduated from the Trulaske College of Business in May 2023 with a BS BA with an emphasis in management.

John Farrell interned with the MU ITC during the Summer 2018 semester, completing a five-week internship based in Prague, Czech Republic. He graduated from the Trulaske College of Business in May 2019 with a BS BA with an emphasis in marketing. Having fallen in love with Prague and its people, Farrell followed his heart, relocating there following graduation, seeking to leverage his marketing skills in an international setting.Hometown: Webster Groves, Missouri

With strong interests in all things international, Spring 2024 graduate Lucas Hayes interned with the MU International Trade Center during the spring of 2023. He honed his global market research skills, completing analysis and sharing recommendations with a small Missouri-based craft distiller interested in guiding the strategic growth of their business.

For more than 40 years, Tom Dustman with Sunnen Products Company in St. Louis, Missouri, has provided leadership, mentorship and advocacy to support improving the global trade environment and representation for businesses in Missouri and across the United States. He is a true servant-leader with a rich spirit for volunteerism and giving back to the community.

Sunnen Products Company, a manufacturer of precision metal removal machinery and consumables based in St. Louis, Missouri, has had a long and beneficial relationship with MU International Trade Center faculty, staff and student interns. Over the past nine years, Sunnen has worked with MU to complete six projects that were customized to focus on an industry sector of interest and yield results designed to positively impact the international sales and marketing activities of the company. A degree in accounting can lead to a wide range of career opportunities post-graduation.Josephine D’Ippolito, an experienced accountant and chief operating officer at Gryphone Strategies, and Mandy Moody, Certified Fraud Examiner and Vice President of Communications at Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) told students from the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business that reaching career goals in the competitive world of accounting takes more than a diploma – it requires interpersonal skills that they will use for the rest of their professional careers.

Two up-and-coming student entrepreneurs from the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business were recently awarded the Darby Fellowship for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to help support their entrepreneurial efforts and enterprising spirits.

The University of Missouri has always held a special place in Patti Baymiller’s heart. This is where she came to launch – and relaunch – her dreams of exploring the world outside her small Missouri hometown: first when she received a degree from the Missouri School of Journalism in 1978 and again in 1984, when she earned an MBA from the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. Each time, Mizzou delivered, and Baymiller went on to enjoy a successful career as a principal/business system consultant in Denver, Colorado.

The Robert J. Trulaske Sr., College of Business held its spring 2024 commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, at Mizzou Arena. Students receiving master’s degrees from the college were recognized during the MU Graduate School ceremony on the same day at Jesse Auditorium. In total, the graduating class included nearly 900 students.
